New survey says Ventura County has two of the safest cities in the state

Moorpark and Tousands Oaks are among the safest cities in the state, according to a new survey by a security company.

Moorpark, Thousand Oaks make top ten list. Two others in Ventura County in top 25.

A survey released by a home security review company reports that two Ventura County cities are among the safest in the state.

Safewise.com ranked Moorpark as the third safest city, and Thousand Oaks as the tenth safest.

The study also ranked Camarillo 17th, and Simi Valley 21st. Further down the list of the state’s safest cities, Safewise ranked Santa Barbara as 171st, Lompoc 187th, and Santa Maria 207th.

Safewise uses FBI crime statistics, demographic data, and its own research to develop the rankings. The website offers reviews of different home security systems. The report notes that property crime has been dropping in California.
