Santa Barbara County Jail escapee caught a county away

KCLU
An escapee from the main Santa Barbara County Jail was arrested Monday night.

Fugitive nabbed in San Luis Obispo motel one night after escape.

An escapee from a jail in Santa Barbara County has been arrested in San Luis Obispo County. Joshua Camarillo-Sanchez escaped from the Main Santa Barbara County Jail in Santa Barbara Sunday night.

Detectives say they learned the 23-year-old man had accomplices who picked him up after he escaped. Last night, they arrested two women in Santa Maria on charges they helped Camarillo-Sanchez.

They then tracked Camarillo-Sanchez to a San Luis Obispo motel, where he was arrested without incident last night.

The Santa Maria man is facing new charges from the escape, as well as the original counts which included domestic violence and assault.
