Ventura County Supervisors have appointed Dr. Sevet Johnson as Interim CEO.

County Supervisors ask Chief Deputy Director of Ventura County's Health Care Agency to step up while permanent CEO is selected.

In the wake of a cloud of controversy, Ventura County has announced the appointment of an interim CEO. Dr. Sevet Johnson will take over the post effective Tuesday.

Johnson has been Chief Deputy Director of Ventura County’s Health Care Agency. She’s been with the county since 2009, and a psychologist for nearly two decades.

Ventura County Supervisors also announced they will start the search for a new permanent CEO.

Johnson is filling the vacancy created by the resignation of CEO Michael Powers. He was placed on administrative leave by County Supervisors earlier this month following a employee complaint. A formal investigation was launched, but he resigned before a final report could be prepared.
