An ongoing project to prevent ocean erosion from damaging the Pacific Coast Highway near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line will mean some traffic delays Wednesday and Thursday.

Traffic to be limited to one lane only for section of PCH during midday hours Wednesday and Thursday.

Motorists on a major South Coast highway could experience some big traffic delays this week due to an ongoing construction project.

Caltrans is replacing some eroding retaining walls on the ocean side of the Pacific Coast Highway near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line. As a part of the project, crews will be installing lane markers from Deer Creek Road, to Sycamore Canyon Road.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Flag crews will only allow traffic to travel in one direction at a time, which will mean significant traffic delays.

Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes if possible. The project to repair the cracking, and eroding PCH shoulder is expected to continue through the Spring of 2023.
