A woman was taken to the hospital after a fire heavily damaged a South Coast home.

The blaze was discovered just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, on the 200 block of Equestrian Avenue in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the building, and an injured woman outside.

No one else was inside, but firefighters rescued a cat.

There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire.
