Hollywood has come to the South Coast this week. This is the first weekend of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which features a number of Academy Award nominees.

All events are live and in person again, after many had to take place virtually last year due to the pandemic. In addition to screenings and special events panels involving filmmakers, there is once again a star-studded lineup of tribute events.

Actress Kristen Stewart will receive the festival’s Riviera Award during an event at Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theater tonight. Other honorees during this year’s festival include Will Smith, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Nicole Kidman, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

The 37th annual festival runs through March 12th.
