Two dead, three seriously injured in head-on collision on South Coast

CHP investigators say a car crossed the center line to hit an SUV on a road near Ventura.

Investigators are trying to figure out what led to a head-on traffic collision on the South Coast which left two people dead, and three seriously injured.

It happened just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near Ventura, on Harbor Boulevard.

CHP investigators say for some reason, the driver of a northbound car crossed the road’s center line, and hit a southbound SUV head-on.

The driver of the car was killed, as was a passenger in the SUV. There’s no word yet on whether investigators think alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash.
