The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels aerial performance team will headline 2023 Naval Base Ventura County Airshow.

The largest air show on the Central and South Coasts is set to happen for the first time since 2015.

KCLU News has learned that Naval Base Ventura County has locked up a headliner for a 2023 air show. The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration team is set to perform. They are one of the most highly sought air show headliners in the world.

Naval Base Ventura County Public Affairs Officer Drew Verbis said while they haven't made an official announcement, the show is set for March 18 and 19, 2023.

The base had planned an airshow for 2020 featuring the Blue Angels, but it was cancelled because of the pandemic. The base has been hosting airshows featuring military and civilian aircraft for more than a half century.
