Covid surge continues on Central, South Coasts

COVID-19 numbers continue to grow in Tri-Counties.

Santa Barbara County reports its first four confirmed Omicron cases.

The latest numbers show that the COVID-19 surge is continuing to grow on the Central and South Coasts. More than 1500 new cases are being reported in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

Ventura County updates its numbers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The county is reporting 1052 additional cases since Monday. 92 people are hospitalized in the county as a result of the virus.

Santa Barbara County updates its numbers daily during the week. It reported 534 additional cases Wednesday. 46 people are in the county’s hospitals because of the virus.

Santa Barbara County also has its first four confirmed Omicron cases. Three of the four cases were in the South County. Ventura and San Luis Obispo County already had confirmed Omicron cases.

San Luis Obispo County reports its numbers on a weekly basis, so there are no new numbers to report.
