A man is dead following what authorities say was a shark attack on the Central Coast.
It happened just before 11 a.m. Friday, off of Morro Bay. The victim was on a boogie board on an area of the beach known as "The Pit" when he was attacked.
The name of the man hasn't been released.
The beaches remained open following the attack, but warning signs were posted telling people to stay out of the ocean in the area.
