A Santa Barbara County community is a lot greener, thanks to a new greenway created to connect some park facilities and community buildings.

The New Cuyama Greenway at Richardson Park was dedicated Friday. The greenway in New Cuyama includes 175 new drought-resistant trees, a pathway, and picnic benches. It enhances an area which includes the community's library, health center, family resource center and Sheriff's office.

The greenway is in Richardson Park, which is just off of Highway 166 in New Cuyama.

The $700,000 project was funded by the California Natural Resources Agency.
