A search was underway for a possible missing boater Wednesday night off the Santa Barbara County coastline.
A boat without anyone in it was seen circling in the water at around 4 p.m. Wednesday off of Carpinteria. First responders were able to get to the boat, and stop it. They found some fishing gear onboard, but no sign of anyone.
The Coast Guard sent thrtee aircraft, inclusing helicopters for a search of the area. A Coast Guard cutter, as well as Santa Barbara City and County rescue craft also were at the scene aiding in the search.
