Both people died as a result of gunshot wounds.

A coroner’s investigation is underway into what authorities think was a murder-suicide over the holiday weekend in a hotel on the South Coast.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Best Western Hotel on Calle Real in Goleta Thanksgiving morning, by reports of a disturbance.

They found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. Both of them died a short time later at a hospital.

Detectives believe the man shot the woman, and then fatally wounded himself. The names of the two people haven’t been released yet.
