Wildfire in Santa Ynez Mountains range continues to grow in size

A wildfire burning in the Santa Ynez Mountain Range has burned several hundreds acres, and forced some evacuations.

A wildfire burning in the Santa Ynez Mountain Range has burned several hundreds acres, and forced some evacuations.

Mostly scattered ranches in area, but some evacuations ordered.

Firefighters are battling a brush fire burning in the mountains above the Santa Ynez Valley which has burned several hundred acres of brush.

The fire broke out just after 2 p.m., in the Refugio Peak area.

The area is sparsely populated, with scattered ranches.

But, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department has issued an Evacuation Order for the Arroyo Hondo Canyon and Refugio Canyon areas. The order also includes Refugio State Beach.
