There’s been an arrest in a hit and run collision on the South Coast which led to the death of a teenage bicyclist.

The 16-year-old boy was riding on Hemlock Street in Oxnard Wednesday night when he was hit by a car. The Port Hueneme teen died a short time later at a hospital.

A surveillance camera caught a car fleeing the scene. Oxnard Police started a search of the area, and found the vehicle abandoned nearby.

They identified the owner as Julio Cesar Sanchez. Investigators say they had evidence that the 36-year-old man was driving the car at the time of the collision. He was arrested on a vehicular manslaughter, and a felony hit and run charge.
