The final countdown is on for a rocket launch from the Central Coast.
SpaceX is set to launch one of its Falcon 9 rockets from Vandenberg Space Force Base Monday night. It will carry a payload of 60 small Starlink satellites. They are part of a network intended to provide high-speed internet access to remote areas of the world.
It’s been a busy year for SpaceX, with more than 20 Falcon 9 launches so far this year. The booster rocket being used tonight is one of the company’s work horses. It will be the 10th flight for the reusable rocket.
The launch is scheduled to take place at 8:55 p.m. Monday.
