A Wednesday morning blaze gutted a shed in a Goleta park, destroying thousands of dollars in youth baseball gear.

A shed was set on fire in Goleta park.

Investigators are now saying that a fire, which destroyed a shed in a South Coast park containing thousands of dollars of baseball gear for kids, was arson.

The fire happened early Wednesday morning in Goleta’s Girsh Park. Santa Barbara County firefighters arrived to find a shed in flames. The shed was a storage facility for Little League teams which use the park.

The shed, and its contents were a total loss. Arson investigators are hoping witnesses may have noticed someone around the park just after 12 Wednesday morning.
