A intercontinental ballistic missile has been successfully test launched from the Central Coast.
The Minuteman III missile took off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday. It was visible to people who happened to be outside at the time on parts of the Central and South Coasts.
The launch was the latest in a series of test launches from the base intended to test equipment, as well as the readiness of flight crews.
