A military rocket launch is set to take place from the Central Coast early Wednesday morning.

The Air Force is planning to test launch an unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The launch window for the Minuteman III missile is from 12:51 a.m. to 6:51 a.m. Wednesday. It’s the latest in a string of planned test launches from the base to test the readiness of equipment and flight crews. The missiles typically carry a dummy payload to a test range in the South Pacific.

The last Minuteman III launch attempt in May was aborted when a computer detected a pre-launch issue.
