The pandemic might have thrown some obstacles in the path of Santa Barbara County’s agricultural industry, but that didn’t stop 2020 being a banner year for production.
The county’s just-released annual ag report shows $1.8 billion in crop value for 2020. That’s up by more than $219 million from 2019. Strawberries remain the top crop, with $727 million in value, followed by cauliflower at $109 million and broccoli at $104 million.
Canada, Japan, and Mexico were the top three countries to receive Santa Barbara County agricultural products.
