Santa Barbara County's strawberry crop was valued at $727 million in 2020, keeping it as the county's top crop.

Strawberries continue to be the county's top crop.

The pandemic might have thrown some obstacles in the path of Santa Barbara County’s agricultural industry, but that didn’t stop 2020 being a banner year for production.

The county’s just-released annual ag report shows $1.8 billion in crop value for 2020. That’s up by more than $219 million from 2019. Strawberries remain the top crop, with $727 million in value, followed by cauliflower at $109 million and broccoli at $104 million.

Canada, Japan, and Mexico were the top three countries to receive Santa Barbara County agricultural products.
