New Help In Santa Barbara County For Those Who Are Homeless, Or On Verge Of Homelessness

Federal Government offers up $3 million dollars for housing voucher program

People who are homeless, or the verge of being homeless may be able to get some new help with housing in Santa Barbara County.

The federal Department of Housing and Urban Development is giving Santa Barbara County’s Housing Authority, as well as the City of Santa Barbara’s Housing Authority three million dollars for emergency housing vouchers.

Besides helping people who are homeless, or in danger of becoming homeless, vouchers will be available for people facing issues like domestic violence.

The vouchers are paid directly to landlords, with residents making up any difference between the subsidies and the actual rent. The program also provides incentives for landlords to participate in the program.
