Change intended to reflect community where it is based

It's the same hospital on the South Coast, but it now had a new name.

St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital officially changed its name Tuesday to St. John's Hospital Camarillo. The change is intended to better reflect the community where it is based. For people unfamiliar with the hospital, the new name will immediate let people know where it is located.

The hospital is more than four decades old. In 2018, major renovations were completed expanding it to a 71,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. Crews were busy Tuesday putting up signs reflecting the hospital's new name.

St. John's Hospital Camarillo is part of a network of Dignity Health owned facilities on the Central and South Coasts, which also includes Marion Medical Center in Santa Maria, French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, and St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
