Investigators say they recovered eight guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition in followup search

Detectives say they discovered an elaborate undercover marijuana grow operation in eastern Ventura County, with several greenhouses, an irrigation system and even its own power supply.

Investigators received information that there might be an operation near the 8700 block of Los Angeles Avenue, just west of Moorpark. They got a search warrant, and say they discovered the greenhouses with about 450 plants. Two Moorpark men were arrested at the scene, and a third was later taken into custody.

Detectives then got a search warrant for the Moorpark home of one of the men who was arrested. They say the found eight guns, and several thousand rounds of ammunition. The three men are facing a number of drug and weapons charges.

While licensed marijuana growing is legal in California, unregulated grows are not.
