A brush fire which charred more than 180 acres of land in Ventura County, and forced a handful of evacuations is now fully contained.

The Casitas Fire broke out just before 4 p.m. Monday north of Lake Casitas, near Highway 150.

Several small ranch homes in the area were threatened, but firefighters were able to protect them. No houses were lost.
