A brush fire burned more than 180 acres of land Monday north of Lake Casitas, in Ventura County but no homes were lost

180+ acres burn north of Lake Casitas, but no homes lost

Firefighter are continuing mopup work Tuesday morning on a brush fire which burned more than 180 acres of land in Ventura County.

The Casitas Fire started just before 4 Monday afternoon north of Lake Casitas, near Highway 150 and Casitas Pass Road. A handful of ranch homes in the area were evacuated, but none were damaged. Firefighters had the upper hand on the blaze by around 7 p.m.

All evacuation orders were lifted by around 9 p.m.
