Retired Central Coast Sheriff's Deputy Accused Of Child Molestation

Served in uniform for nearly three decades

A retired sheriff’s deputy on the Central Coast has been arrested on child molestation charges.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s detectives say they received information that multiple children had been sexually abused. They launched an investigation which led to this week’s arrest of James Storton of Arroyo Grande.

Officials say the 63-year-old man was with the Sheriff’s Office for 29 years. Storton retired in 2009.
