Tragedy Hits South Coast Family; Mother Fatally Stabbed, Father Held On Murder Charge

Couple's two young children unhurt

A South Coast woman is dead, and her husband is facing a murder charge after what detectives believe was a domestic violence incident.

Oxnard Police were called to the 1100 block of West Hemlock Street at about 10 Friday night by reports of a stabbing. They found Karla Novela Cabrera with multiple stab wounds. The 27 year old Oxnard woman died a short time later at a hospital.

Officers say they were told her husband was responsible for the attack. They found him in a nearby alley. Detectives say he had stab wounds which they believe were self inflected.

The couples two children were at home at the time of the attack, but were unhurt.
