Non-Profit Awards More Than $8 Million Dollars In Scholarships To Central, South Coast Students

More than 2200 students from Santa Barbara County getting help

A more than half century old non-profit on the South Coast has just awarded more than eight million dollars in college scholarships to some Santa Barbara County students.

The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara is reporting that it’s providing help to more than 2200 students. The average award amount to undergraduate students is more than $3100 dollars.

The foundation has awarded more than $135 million dollars in scholarships to college students in need since it was founded in 1962. It’s the largest community-based scholarship organization in the nation.
