More Than 5,000 Graduate From South Coast Community Colleges Thursday

Many take part in drive-through events at four Ventura County campuses

Thursday is a huge day for thousands of community college students on the South Coast. It’s their graduation day.

More than 5,000 Moorpark, Oxnard, Ventura, and Ventura College East Campus students graduated Thursday.

Because of COVID-19 safety concerns, the Ventura County Community College District held drive-through events at the four campuses. Students picked up their graduation cap tassels and commemorative lawns signs.

Because of the pandemic, for some students it was the first time in more than a year they’ve actually been on campus.
