Series At Reagan Library Also Includes Mike Pompeo, Nikki Haley

The Republican Party is in turmoil, with some raising questions about its future direction. Some of the biggest names in the party, including former Vice President Mike Pence, will be coming to Ventura County for a speaker’s series looking at the issue.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is hosting a speaker series called “A Time For Choosing” to examine what’s next for the party.

John Heubusch is Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. He says the series will bring some the party’s biggest movers and shakers to Simi Valley to speak.

The lineup includes former Speaker of The House Paul Ryan on May 27th, Former Vice President Mike Pence June 24th, and Former Secretary Of State Mike Pompeo July 26th.

Others set to speak include Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, and U.S. Senator Tim Scott.

Heubusch says the speakers are being asked not to give stock speeches, but to talk about what they think the party should looking like in the future. Plans call for all of the speeches to be in-person, public events at the library as long as COVID-19 safety conditions permit.

More than a half dozen more speakers will be added to the lineup, but at this point it doesn’t include former Presidents Trump or Bush.
