Central Coast City Gets New Fire Chief

The City of Santa Maria has named a new fire chief. Deputy Fire Chief Todd Tuggle has been promoted to Chief.

The City of Santa Maria has named a new fire chief. Deputy Fire Chief Todd Tuggle has been promoted to Chief.

But, he's already a familiar face in the community

A Central Coast city has a new fire chief.

Todd Tuggle is now heading the Santa Maria Fire Department.

He’s been a firefighter for nearly two decades, serving with the Fresno Fire Department for 17 years. Tuggle joined the Santa Maria department in 2020 as Deputy Fire Chief.

He replaces Leonard Champion, who retired after nearly three decades with the Santa Maria agency.
