Some clinics also offering specific vaccines for people who want to make a choice

Remember when you when you had to struggle to find an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination? A few weeks ago, getting a COVID-19 shot meant making an appointment, sometimes more than a week in advance. You took whatever vaccine was available. That’s changed in a big way.

Ventura County is now offering more than 10 walkup clinics. There’s no appointment necessary at places like the Ventura County Fairgrounds, the Babies R Us Building on Rose Avenue in Oxnard, and the Goebel Adult Community Center in Thousand Oaks.

And, if you go online, you can even shop around if you want to get a specific vaccine. For instance, the county fairgrounds is doing Pfizer. The lines are reported to be short to nonexistent at many places. But, if you prefer, you can still go online and make an appointment.

Santa Barbara County is also offering some no appointment clinics, but they are at specific sites on specific days.
