Blaze disrupts traffic in area

A brush fire burned about five acres of rugged hillside land off of Highway 101 before it was stopped Thursday afternoon.

It was reported on the north side of the 101 near Las Virgenes Road just before 2 p.m. No homes were threatened, but firefighting efforts disrupted traffic in the area.

Firefighters were able to get the upper hand on the blaze in about 45 minutes. There's no word on the cause of the fire.
