Dog has to be carried more than four miles

A search and rescue team made a very unusual rescue in Ventura County over the weekend, helping a dog injured on a remote trail.

Lusha was on a three day camping trip with her owner on the Sespe Creek Trail. The eight year old Rottweiler injured one of her front paws, and couldn’t walk. The dog’s owners ran into a nearby group of people who had a satellite phone, who called for help.

The Upper Ojai Search and Rescue Team responded to help. The team hiked in four miles with a special stretcher, and brought the dog out to safety. The dog cooperated, and apparently didn’t mind getting a lift out of the area to safety.
