Former Central Coast Police Chief Dies

Beau Pryor had been retired from Arroyo Grande Police Department for less than a year

A man who spent his entire law enforcement career serving a Central Coast city has died, less than a year after retiring.

Beau Pryor joined the Arroyo Grande Police Department in 1994. He worked his way up through the ranks to become the city’s Police Chief in 2017. Pryor retired last year.

Arroyo Grande leaders are praising the longtime public safety officer for his dedication, saying he helped improve safety in the community and professionalism in the police department.

There’s no word on the cause of death. Pryor was 50 years old.
