Santa Barbara County Now In Orange COVID-19 Reopening Tier

New case count remains low; 73 additional cases in Tri-Counties

Santa Barbara County officially moved into the state’s Orange COVID-19 reopening tier Wednesday, which allows expanded indoor capacity for people at places like restaurants, gyms, and movie theaters.

Ventura County has been in the Orange Tier for a few weeks now. San Luis Obispo County still hasn’t met the lowered case count needed to move from the Red, to the Orange Tier.

The overall situation seems to be improving still, with another day of low new COVID-19 case numbers for region. 73 additional cases were reported in the three counties Wednesday. Ventura County had 28 more cases, Santa Barbara County 26, and San Luis Obispo County 19.

The total number of cases in the last year, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at just over 135,300. There was one additional COVID-19 related death reported Wednesday, pushing the overall number to 1705 deaths in the Tri-Counties.
