Traffic Accident Call On South Coast Turns Into Murder Investigation

A man found unconscious in his car was discovered to have a gunshot wound.

What started out as a traffic accident investigation on the South Coast has turned into a murder case.

Oxnard police were called to the 1400 block of West Hemlock Street around nine a.m. Friday by reports of a traffic collision. They found a car which had smashed into two parked vehicles. There was an unconscious man inside.

As emergency personnel began to treat the man, they noticed he had a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.

The name of the man hasn’t been released. Oxnard Police detectives are trying to unravel what happened, and are looking for possible witnesses.
