Just Released Statistics Show Unemployment Is Down Statewide, As Well As On The Central and South Coasts

Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties all showed dips in their jobless rates.

Ventura County went from 6.8% in February to 6.4% in March. Santa Barbara County’s jobless rate dropped from 7.2%, to 6.6%. And, San Luis Obispo County also showed improvement, with February’s 6.3% unemployment rate going to 5.5% last month.

The month to month statewide unemployment rate dropped from 8.5% in February, to 8.3% in March. Despite the improvement, unemployment is still around double in the state than it was pre-pandemic.
