Last November, paramedics and Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies were called to California Lutheran university by reports of a female student having a medical emergency. She was taken to a hospital, where efforts to save her were unsuccessful.
Ventura County Sheriff’s narcotics investigators say it appears she died as a result of some illegally made fentanyl pills. They started an investigation which led to the arrest of Sergio Herrera of Los Angeles.
Detectives say when the 19-year-old man was arrested, he was in possession of a large amount of illegal narcotics. They believe he supplied drugs to the student who died.
