Central, South Coasts Show Unemployment Dip

The latest round of unemployment figures for the Central and South Coasts shows after a slight bump up in January, the numbers are once again beginning to improve in the region.

Ventura County posted a 7.4% unemployment rate in January, but it dipped to 6.8% in February. Santa Barbara County went from 7.8% to 7.1%. And, San Luis Obispo County’s jobless rate dropped from 6.8% in January, to 6.3% in February.

The statewide figure went from 9.0% in January to 8.5% last month.
