Victim Of Mysterious Murder On Central Coast Identified

Still No Word On Cirumstances Surrounding Death In Santa Ynez Valley

Authorities have released a few more details about a mysterious murder which occurred on the Central Coast earlier this month. They say the victim wasn’t a man, but a teenage boy from San Luis Obispo County.

On March 7th, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a section of Foxen Canyon Road, in the Santa Ynez Valley for what appeared to be a traffic accident. Deputies and CHP officers found a body next to a car, and determined it wasn’t an accident, but a homicide.

Investigators still aren’t talking about what they think happened.

But, they have released the name of the person who died. The victim was 17-year-old Santiago Maldonado Martinez, of Shandon.
