Probation Officers Visit More Than 30 Locations, But No Arrests Reported

Probation checks are a regular event on the Central and South Coasts, as officers make spot checks to see if those on probation are living within the law. But, some in Santa Barbara County this week took on a different twist, with officers showing up with food and treats for kids.

The Santa Barbara County Probation Department checked up on people at nearly three dozen locations in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Santa Maria, Orcutt, and Lompoc.

The operation focused on probationers with children, or vulnerable adults at home, to insure the safety of the households.

Officers didn’t make any arrests. But, they did give families bags of sanitizing products, food, and Easter-themed goodies for children.
