South Coast Jail Inmate Has Medical Emergency, Later Dies In Hospital

A Ventura County jail inmate who was undergoing a check by the jail’s medical staff suddenly had a medical emergency, and later died. Daniel Kornbluth was in the Special Housing Unit of the county’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility when the crisis occurred Wednesday. The jail’s staff started emergency medical aid.

The 59 year old Thousand Oaks man was taken to a hospital. Jail officials say Kornbluth was stabilized, but his medical condition then began to deteriorate.

He died a few hours later.  An autopsy to determine the cause of death is being conducted.
