  • Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1649 and the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation are pleased to be hosting the Santa Barbara community Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early; the ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. sharp and concludes with a spectacular flyover by The Condor Squadron.

    The ceremony will take place at the Santa Barbara Cemetery, 901 Channel Drive. Known as one of the city’s most beautiful outdoor locations, the venue’s driveway will be decorated with dozens of American flags. The ceremony will take place near the main flagpole, with seating available for up to 500, with additional standing room.

    THIS IS A FREE EVENT.

    The open air ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. with presentations and performances by the UCSB Color Guard; Gold Coast Pipe & Drum Band; David Gonzales and the Santa Barbara Choral Society, The Prime Time Band, keynote speaker, Rear Admiral John Weigold U.S. NAVY retired, local guest speakers; and a flyover by The Condor Squadron.

This FREE event is on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11:00 am sharp at the Santa Barbara Cemetery (901 Channel Drive., Santa Barbara, CA 93108). Attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

    The open air ceremony includes presentations and performances by the UCSB ROTC Color Guard; Gold Coast Pipe & Drum Band; David Gonzales and the Santa Barbara Choral Society, The Prime Time Band, and a flyover by The Condor Squadron.

    Guest Speakers include: Colonel Robert Long, Commander of Space Launch Delta 30 and Western Launch and Test Range, Vandenberg Space Force Base, and LTJG Christia Sandstedt, CGC, USCGC Blackfin.

    Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office
    Santa Barbara Police Department
    Santa Barbara City Fire Department
    Santa Barbara County Fire Department
    Montecito Fire Protection District

    They will also be joined by the University of California, Santa Barbara ROTC, the Santa Barbara Choral Society and the Gold Coast Pipe Band ending with a thrilling flyover of the Condor Squadron's four T-6 Texan airplanes.
