He learned music mainly by ear and was influenced by legends like Michael Coleman and James Morrison. Gavin’s journey includes winning prestigious Irish music competitions, forming the iconic band De Dannan in 1973, and recording numerous albums both solo and with collaborators. Despite the evolving music landscape, Gavin remains dedicated to the rich tradition of Irish music.
