2: ROBERT SHOPE, Co-chair of the Committee on Emerging Microbial Threats to Health. Shope is also a physician and professor of epidemiology at the Yale University School of Medicine. SHOPE was part of the team that identifyied the virus that caused Lyme disease, and the rabies-related virus. Terry will talk with him about the on-going threat to our health by emerging viruses. Frankie Gavin the Fastest Fiddler in the World

Frankie Gavin embraces his role as one of the world’s top traditional Irish fiddlers, amid the dominance of pop, rap, and rock in the music industry. Born in 1956 in Galway, Gavin hails from a musical family and displayed prodigious talent from a young age. He learned music mainly by ear and was influenced by legends like Michael Coleman and James Morrison. Gavin’s journey includes winning prestigious Irish music competitions, forming the iconic band De Dannan in 1973, and recording numerous albums both solo and with collaborators. Despite the evolving music landscape, Gavin remains dedicated to the rich tradition of Irish music.
