Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties are all moving ahead with efforts to lift more of the coronavirus related shutdowns in effect on the Central and South Coasts.
County supervisors in all three counties voted Tuesday to move ahead with seeking state approval for reopening efforts.
Officials in the region have wasted no time in seeking approval to continue reopening efforts, after the governor on Monday modified the criteria counties have to meet.
If the state approves the applications by the three counties, it would allow things like the resumption of in-restaurant dining, some indoor shopping, and the reopening of parking lots at beaches.
Counties applying for state permission to relax closures must meet guidelines for things like coronavirus testing, tracing of cases to insure they don’t spread, and low hospitalization rates.
There’s no word on how quickly the state will act on the applications.
