South Coast Nonprofit Aims To Build School Supplies For Disadvantaged Kids

Although the coronavirus upended the end of the last school year, one South Coast nonprofit is working to help disadvantaged kids get a leg up for next year.

The United Way of Ventura County’s annual day of action is tomorrow, as they look to build up essential school supplies for students who are homeless or from low-income families for their Stuff the Bus campaign.

Mitchell Sloan with United Way says that the impact of the coronavirus has forced them to move certain operations online, but that continuing the work is vital.

“With these added economic times, there’s going to be an even bigger need as we enter the fall,” Sloan says.

Interested parties can find out more about the campaign on their website and social media.
