Jobs, Cargo Tonnage, Tax Revenue All Up At South Coast Port

A South Coast port is reporting that business is booming, so much so that it added more than 2200 jobs last year. Port of Hueneme officials say the facility is now responsible for more than 15,800 jobs.

The more than eight decade old port also reports that the volume of cargo grew to an all-time high in 2018 of $1.6 million tons. Officials say even people in the county not connected with the port are benefitting in a big way, with tax revenue growing by 28%.
