Bill By Ventura County Legislator To Help Veterans With Child Care Passes Hurdle In Congress

An effort by a Ventura County congresswoman to help expand child care for veterans has taken a big step forward in Congress. The House of Representatives passed HR 840. It expands heath care services for veterans who need help taking care of their kids, or grandkids while they are going to VA medical appointments.

The legislation would renew, and expand a pilot program created by Congress in 2011. The bill is co-sponsored by Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village. It now goes to the Senate for consideration.
